The PTE Academic is a language proficiency computer-based test that assesses students’ English speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills. Important note: If you are applying for a post-graduate course, aim for a minimum score of 50-67. Any score above this will increase the likelihood of securing a seat at your preferred university.
Compared to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), the PTE test will give faster results, i.e., in just 48 hours. However, both exams have different patterns, but it is easy to ace them, when you prepare well in advance.

PTE exam dates are available around the year. Therefore, candidates can take it any time of the year.
Candidates are advised to check the official website to verify the PTE Academic test dates and the time slots for taking it at a test centre or online. Kindly note that the test dates may vary from one test centre to another. Thus, choose the nearest centre to your home location and shortlist the exam date accordingly. For online exams, you can book the time slot at least 24 hours in advance.

You should schedule your first PTE 2-3 months before the university’s admission deadline to get enough time to reappear for the test if needed. To ace it, start preparing at least 2-3 months before the exam date.
In India, INR 17,000 is the fee for the PTE Academic test at a centre and PTE Academic online exam.

The conducting body has not specified any minimum age eligibility criteria and qualification for the PTE Academic exam. However, candidates must be 16 years old before appearing for it.
You need to write an essay of 200-300 words in 20 minutes on a given topic in the PTE Academic exam’s Speaking & Writing section.
