This visa is applicable if you are under 17 years of age, interested in pursuing education from an independent school in the UK. Depending on your age and the duration of the course, you can stay up to 6 years. This visa has replaced Tier 4 (Child) student visa.
You can apply for a UK student visa if you are over 16 years. Depending on the duration of the course, you can stay for 2-5 years. Earlier you could apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa, which Student Visa now replaces.
1. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS): Ensure you have an unconditional offer from your university.
2. Passport: A valid passport is a must. Remember that your passport should have enough space to get your visa stamped on it.
3. English proficiency test scores: You have to take the Secure English Language Test (SELT) to prove your English language skills. International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as a Foreign Language-Internet Based Test (TOEFL-IBT) and Pearson Academic Test of English (PTE) are popular SELTs that are accepted for the UK student visa.
4. Proof of funds: If you are applying for a UK student visa, you should have sufficient funds to prove that you are financially capable of paying your fees and expenses during your stay. When you apply for a study abroad loan, your education loan financier will provide you with proof of funds.
