Entrance exams

In addition to the English language tests, students need to appear for competitive exams such as the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), which is specifically designed for Management Studies, or the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), which is applicable to all graduate programmes. Some universities sometimes waive such exams. Kayalvizhi did not have to appear for the GRE or GMAT as it was not mandatory.

Her experience with her education loan partner

When she approached Avanse Financial Services, she was impressed with the exceptional customer service. Meanwhile, she also tried one more financial institution. However, the slow process and lack of response discouraged her from going ahead with the other lender.

She was delighted when her student loan was sanctioned by Avanse on the 7th day and disbursed on the 9th day after applying. As her education loan was disbursed on time, she was able to meet her university fee deadline without any stress. She was pleased that she trusted Avanse Financial Services for all the right reasons.

Her student loan repayment plans

Once Kayalvizhi arrives in Germany, her studies will be a priority, and simultaneously, she will look for a part-time job. She will save the money that she will earn from her part-time job to support her lifestyle there. After completing her studies, she wants to work in Germany for 2-3 years so she can pay back her study loan. Following that, she will come back to India. This will be a win-win situation. She will have enough funds to repay her student loan, and she will also have international work experience that will take her career to newer heights.

Her invaluable tips for study abroad aspirants

  • University-related research: You must conduct extensive research to shortlist a few universities based on your choice of course. It will enable you to select a few institutes where you can apply to increase your chances of securing a university spot.
  • Packing: Understanding the weather in your host country will help you determine the appropriate clothing you will need to pack. For instance, if you are travelling to the colder regions, it’s essential to pack jackets or warm clothing.
  • Accommodation: During the winter intakes, most housing options are booked, and there is a long waiting time. Therefore, you must begin your accommodation hunt well in advance when you are in your home country.
  • Be prepared: When studying abroad, you will have to step out of your comfort zone and interact with others to build a network. You must be mentally prepared for new experiences, new people, and new environments. Familiarising yourself with the basics of the local language can be super helpful.
