Some of the best countries for international students allow foreign students to take up part-time on-campus/off-campus jobs. For instance, in the US, students with F-1 visas can work for up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session but up to 40 hours per week during school breaks. In the UK, during the school term, you’re allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours per week, unlimited hours during scheduled breaks. In Canada, students can work off-campus for up to 24 hours while classes are in session w.e.f. September 2024. PSW visa
Many countries offer post-study work (PSW) visas so students can work or explore work opportunities in the host country post-completion of their course. In the US, you can apply for post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT), which will allow you to work for at least 20 hours per week. STEM students can be eligible for an extension of 24 months. If you study in the UK, the Graduate Visa will let you stay for up to 2-3 years, depending on the course. Post-graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada may remain valid for a duration of 2 to 3 years, depending on the study programme. Overseas education will also assist you in building a promising career.
