As per the new developments, this visa will now be known as the Post-vocational Education Work stream. With this visa, you can study further, stay or explore work opportunities.

The processing time for a student visa in Australia, subclass 500, will be around 3-4 weeks. Meanwhile, the Post-vocational Education Work stream will take approximately 53 days to 5 months. Considering Australia’s study visa processing time, you must apply well in advance to avoid the last-minute rush. Please note that the Australian student visa processing time from India will vary from person to person, depending on the information and documents shared.
to Genuine Student: It was necessary to meet the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement earlier to get Australian student visas, which has now been changed to the Genuine Student (GS) requirement. This new development is effective from 23 March 2024. To ensure that only those students who are genuinely interested in studies are welcomed in Australia, they will have to share information about family, employment (if any), reasons to study in Australia, and other necessary details.
Among other Australian student visa requirements, students need to meet minimum financial capacity criteria. From 10 May 2024, applicants opting for Student and Student Guardian visas will have to prove that they have access to AUD 29,710, which is approximately INR 16,45,000, in order to apply for student visas.
